Svetlana is sitting in the living room in her house in the hard hit town of pesky. She was talking about the war and how pesky is affected by it.
Lana Nikolaiyetsch is taking a Walk with her remaining goats accross a field in Nevelske while a Tank patrol is crossing. Her Family is seperated since the war starts and her daughter and father are living in the seperatist city of Donetsk. Her daughter is working in the Hospital, which got under fire on a constant base.
Vasily sits on the hatch of his basement which he has been using as a bunker since the conflict began. He keeps it well-stocked with food for him and his son to survive a minimum of ten days in the self-made bunker. At any moment they can leave everything behind and take shelter in the basement until the shelling is over.
Like many people who are living in that region also Nelli prepared a "grab and run" bag for herself when the village gets under fire. Some medicine, a bit money her documents and a few clothes are ready packed in her handbag.
Nelli is holding a hand crafted piece which her grand son, who is living on the occupied crimea, made for her years ago before the conflict.

Mariya is staying on the streets in Nevelske, which are partial destroyed through shelling as well as through the heavy tanks patroling since a while. -The Ukrainian army set up a small station for tanks and other vehicles in nevelske. Through this, the army also supplies the civilians with water and food. -
Mariya used to live close with her family, but her daughters family fled and she tries to secure their house.
She's also bound to her place identity wise. For her it's all her life and identity that she can not leave behinde in Nevelske.

Sergiy, a former Taxi driver, is staying in the hideout in Karlivka where the family used to go when shelling starts.

During mortar attacks in the night time, a mortar which exploded in front of his mothers house blew up Gafar's window and shrapnels were busting through the room. Gafar got hit in the head through this. Luckily he survived.
Rama and Zhenya spending most of their time at home, since most of the schools and kindergarten shut down during the conflict, with their other siblings (9 in total).
Around the Village of Halytsynivka, I found the only mine field which was market with a sign to warn people to cross the field.
Nikolai and his family lost their house through the conflict. As he discribed, an airstrike hit their house and destroyed it.

She used to live in the hard hit village with her whole family. Her parents fled in 2014 but she wanted to stay with her grandmother. She moved to her parents after the summer of 2015, after the heavy fights in this area. She witnessed how her neighbors dying by mortar attacks. Now she's visiting her grandmother during every weekend and she said, that she's not afraid.
In the basement of a destroyed house complex is an self made bunker room where people are living since more then one year. The bed is an old shelf on the wall.
No electricity, no water, no gas.

There was no electricity and no heating. The temperature was freezing inside but it was still open.
The only thing that works in some parts of Krasnohorivka is electricty.
That makes the kids feel more comfortable and forget every now and then about their circumstances.

Neliya from Mariinka, - Mariinka is a split city; one half is controlled by Ukrainians and the other by the DNR-Speratists - is staying in her garden where a bomb went off. Fortunately the shell doesn't hit her house.
The truck was destroyed through fights in Mariinka and stayed at this spot and is blocking the street since summer 2015.
